Wow I am in Sweden and I need help too.
Baking soda IS bicarbonate, but I can't find any.

Did you realize that your words all translate into the words baking soda?
    I am read: powder = soda   soda=soda

    Then from fairy floss
     Baking powder is baking soda.
Baking soda is sodium bicarbonate. I am 100% sure .  (that translates that they are IDENTICAL)

Do you all understand why we still cannot understand?  All translates the same
baking powder equals  baking soda and baking soda equals baking soda
baking powder equals baking soda and baking soda equals sodium bicarbonate

We can't tell the difference on the SHELF.  I bought some Bakpulver and it uses 2 chemicals to mimic sodium bicarbonate.  So it is baking SODA  it took me days and hours to find it and figure out what it was.  Now I still can't find any POWDER which should just be a starch or a potato starch.

Baking soda has starch and bicarbonate (or another chemical agent)  POWDER is the base from which the soda is made.

    I still need help.
I know that you can buy baking soda aka bicarbonate, in swedish bikarbonat, at hemköp. They have a brand called Eldorado which I know also has bicarbonate in their selection. The bags are next to the spicies and often green and transparent.
