Is the display convertible between ºC and ºF and how can I switch between ºC and ºF?
Yes. If you whish to switch between ºC and ºF, proceed as follows:
Switch on the thermometer (if it is already switched on, make sure it is not in memory mode).
Press the «O / mem» button and keep it pressed. Then press and release the activation button to switch over to the «change temperature scale» mode.
By pressing the activation button again, the Fahrenheit scale is activated, « ºF » is displayed on the LCD. Each further pressing of the activation button toggles the scale between ºC and ºF.
Release the «O / mem» button to return to the ready symbol.
All temperatures stored in memory will automatically be converted to the selected scale when displayed on the LCD.
How can I clear the memories?
Press the «O / mem» button for 5 seconds to clear the temperatures stored in memory. Release the «O / mem» button to return to the ready symbol.
How can I change the battery?
The thermometer is supplied with 2 lithium cells, type CR 2032. If you have to insert new batteries, proceed as follows:
Using the tip of ball-point pen, press the battery door lock to open the battery compartment. Remove the batteries and replace with new batteries, making sure the poles are in the right direction. Slide battery door back in until it snaps in place.
How can I change the display instantly to the previous temperature?
To enter the memory mode, press the «O / mem» button.

Make sure the thermometer is turned off.
Press and hold down the «start» button (IRT 4020) / the «I/O» button (IRT 4520). After about 3 seconds the display will show this sequence:
«ºC» / «SET» / «ºF» / «SET» ...
Release the «start» button / «I/O» button when «ºF» is shown. There will be a short beep to confirm the new setting, then the thermometer is turned off automatically. When turned on again, temperatures will be shown in Fahrenheit, until the above procedure is repeated.
All temperatures stored in memory will automatically be converted to the selected scale when displayed on the LCD.
How can I change the battery?
The thermometer is supplied with two 1.5 V type AA (LR 6). For best performance, we recommend Duracell alkaline batteries.
Insert new batteries when the battery symbol appears on the display.
Open the battery compartment. Remove the batteries and replace with new batteries, making sure the poles are in the right direction.
Slide battery door back until it snaps in place.
