Afeter purchasing the citrus, re-pot it in 3-litre pot with adequate holes for drainage, using the low-calcium potting soil provided (pH 4.5). Situate the plant in a light spot indoors, not too close to a radiator. in the summer, the citrus can be moved to a sunny spor outdoors, it will need time to acclimatise and should not immediately be placed in direct sunlight. It should not be exposed to a temperatures below 10°C.
give the plant adequate (rain) water when the soil surface becomes dry. This could be once day in the summer or every 2 or 3 weeks in the winter. Add fertilies once a week. The citrus blossoms in the spring or summer.
The fruit takes 4 to 5 months to ripen. Ripe fruit can be used as ingredients in marmalade and drinks.
If the plants does not by september, stop adding fertiliser. Plants with blossoms or fruit should be situated in a light spot indoors for winter. Plants without fruit should be placed in a light, cool spot indoors (10-15°C) for winter and be moderately watered in order to promote bud grwth. Prune in the spring.
